Walk-in Interview for Research Associate Position

A walk-in-interview will be held on 10/07/2023 at 11.00 AM in the Department of Sociology, Tezpur University for one (01) temporary position of Research Associate in the ICSSR sponsored research project entitled “Work, Mental Health and Gender: A Sociological Study on Women Police in Dibrugarh District of Assam” under the Principal Investigator Dr. Pamidi Hegjer, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Tezpur University, Tezpur, Napaam – 784028, Assam.

Essential Qualification: Post Graduate in any social science discipline with minimum 55% marks and NET/SLET/MPhil/PhD).

Remuneration: 20,000 (Rupees twenty thousand) only per month (as per approved emolument of ICSSR).

Age: Candidate shall not be more than 28 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per Government of India rules.

Duration: Initially for a period of three (03) months, which may be extended further depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and co-terminus with the project or until further order, whichever is earlier, subject to availability of funds by funding agency.

Interested candidates may appear before the interview board with original and self-attested photocopies of mark sheets, certificates from 10th standard onwards, certificate of NET/SLET/Mphil/PhD, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate (if any), any other testimonials, a copy of recent signed Curriculum Vitae (CV) and application in prescribed format (Annexure-I) on the day of interview. Advance copy of their CV may be sent to Dr. Pamidi Hegjer, Principal Investigator via email: pamidi@tezu.ac.in on or before 07/07/2023. Original documents of the candidate(s) will be verified by the Selection Committee.

N.B.:

1. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
2. Those in employment or doing Ph.D. must submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the concerned employer / Ph.D. Supervisor.

Tezpur University (Assamese:তেজপুৰ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a Central University located in Tezpur in the North Eastern state of Assam, India by an act in Parliament of India in 1994.The Governor of Assam, Padmanabha Acharya is the chancellor of Tezpur University, Mihir Kanti Chaudhuri is the vice-chancellor and Amarjyoti Choudhury is the pro vice-chancellor. The establishment of University is considered to be one of the outcomes of the Assam Accord, along with the establishment of Assam University and Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. University was established, by an Act of Parliament, in 1994. The then prime minister of India, P. V. Narasimha Rao, chaired the opening of the university. Initially, the university operated from the premises of the Darrang College, in Tezpur. For a while it also operated from the Tezpur Law College premises.
