Research Associate/Postdoc Position

Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate/Postdoc in an environmental pollution modelling,
health impact assessment related research project entitled: Indian pollution scenarios of PM10 and PM2.5: Local
measurement to regional emission modelling through atmospheric chemistry, health impact assessment and spatial
distributions, under the interdisciplinary team of project investigators: Dr. Samit Bhattacharyya (Department of
Mathematics), Dr. Sailesh Behara (Department of Civil Engineering), and Dr. Yamini Sudha Sistla (Department of
Chemical Engineering), Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar 201314 (U.P.). The
position is temporary for about a year and is available immediately.

Qualification or Eligibility:

Ph.D. in Mathematics/statistics or any Science discipline or Civil Engineering (related field of environmental
engineering or geoinformatics or urban studies) or Chemical/mechanical Engineering (environmental related
applications), or M.Sc./MTech with at least 3 years of research, teaching and design experience having at least
one research paper in SCI-indexed Journal. The candidate should have a good background and experience in handling
big data and statistical modelling, and simulations for research problem execution.

Desirable:

Preference will be given to candidates having prior experience in data handling, statistical modelling, and
simulations.

Fellowship:

Rs. 45,000/- per month. Campus accommodation will be provided based on availability.

Duration:

6+6 months (purely temporary).

Project Description:

Partly, the project aims to analyze big data, develop statistical and mathematical models to quantify health
assessment due to air pollution using national level data on pollution and health.
