Responsibilities
The Director is the Chief Executive Officer. He shall be responsible for the overall functioning of the Institute and planning for its future course of action fulfilling the objectives of the Institute. He is expected to take the Institute on a growth path to make it the Centre of Excellence and self-reliant financially.

A copy of the same may also be sent to the Joint Secretary (S&T), Ministry of Mines (Govt. of India), 3rd Floor, D-Wing, Shastri Bhavan, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi – 110 001. Applications from persons employed in Central/ State Government/ PSUsI Universities/ Autonomous Bodies should be forwarded through proper channel. Candidates sending advance application are required to produce No Objection Certificate at the time of Interview. The candidates intending to join on deputation will be governed by rules of the GOI on the subject. Last Date: The last date for receipt of applications is 23-01-2025. Short-listed candidates may have to attend an interactive process at New Delhi, on the date and at the venue which will be intimated to them. About National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM):

NIRM is the only institution in south Asia exclusively devoted to research in rock mechanics. Over the period of last 25 years, the institute has the privilege to provide its expertise to various central, state government agencies and public sector undertakings in the field of mining, hydroelectric projects, nuclear power projects, oil and gas sector and various infrastructure project authorities including rail, road, airports, hospital etc. The Institute has been developed as a Centre of Excellence for Rock Engineering, with the following broad areas of activities :
