General
Instructions

a) Faculty members of the Institute shall have teaching and research as their primary responsibility. However, they shall also exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be assigned to them from time to time by the HOD / Dean(s) / Director or any other authority of the Institute. b) All faculties are required to stay inside the Institute campus only if a suitable accommodation is provided by the Institute. In the event of the Institute not being able to provide a suitable accommodation inside the campus, they will be permitted to stay outside and HRA as per rule will be admissible in that case. c) All faculties are to abide by the Conduct Rules, Leave Rules, House Allotment Rules, and any other rules contained in the by-laws of NIAMT Society as amended from time to time and relevant notifications being issued by the Institute from time to time. d) All faculties are expected to always act and perform in a manner that is not unbecoming of a faculty of the Institute in general. All faculties are expected to exercise and reflect utmost propriety while discharging their responsibilities and exercising the powers delegated to them. e) Selected candidates will be covered under National Pension System (NPS) as has been implemented from 01/04/2004, unless he/she is already covered under the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 in his/her current employment till his/her joining in the Institute and his/her service from current employer is duly transferred to the Institute after his joining in the Institute.

Industrial development plays an important role in the development of the country. To Provide the requisite quality & quantity of trained manpower at different level, Govt. of India set up the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) in the year 1966 in collaboration with UNDP-USESCO. NIFFT is registered as Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The management of the Institute is vested with Board of Governors with Chairman at its apex and members representing Govt. of India (Ministry of HRD & industry), AICTE, Private and Public enterprises, technical and R & D organizations.
