Responsibilities

Development of real-time updation and maintenance of data repository on all water sources in the country on GIS platform with advance analytics for decision support systems on operation of water resources assets, river basin assessment, water utilization, water consumption, forecasting of flood, mitigation measures due to floor/drought and water quality etc. Also responsible for development of various models and generating different scenarios for immediate dissemination of information to the public and the government. The office shall also maintain linkages with the State Water Resources/lrrigation Departments of the country

Note 2:The Chairman of the Cauvery Water Management Authority shall hold office for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65 years whichever is earlier:- Provided that where a serving officer is appointed as Chairman, he shall be on deputation until he attains the age of superannuation and thereafter he may be considered for extension of tenure on re-employment terms subject to upper age limit and tenure prescribed herein. The selected officer will be treated on Foreign Service terms and his pay will be regulated in accordance with DOPT O. M No. 6/8/2009- Estt.
