Relaxation and Preferences:

Elevation and Criteria:
Elevation of Assistant Professor (Grade – II) Level – 10 to Assistant Professor (Grade-II) Level – 11 to Assistant
Professor (Grade-I) Level -12 will be done as per the IIM Jammu Rules. If any faculty member, appointed at L-10 or
L-11, is not able to meet the criteria related to the quality of teaching and publications, enough opportunity will
be given to him/her to improve during the probation period. However, if he/she fails to meet the teaching and
publication criteria during the probation period, his/her services will be terminated as per IIM Jammu Rules.

Equivalence of Journal Category will be as follows:

equivalent to one paper in ‘B’-Category Journals.

The pay carries all other allowances such as DA (currently 42% of basic), Leased Accommodation/HRA (18% of basic),
LTC, Medical Allowance, Children Education Allowance, NPS, Reimbursement of Telephone Bills, Incentive for Research
Publications, Faculty Development Fund for attending National and International Conferences, Membership of
Professional Bodies, etc. as per IIM Jammu Rules. Faculty members are permitted to pursue MDPs and Management
Consulting as per IIM Jammu Rules.

1. Teaching Assistants – 8 Posts (Contract) (CLOSED)
Job Profile: Assisting faculty in activities related to course design and delivery of the Institute’s programs, Correction/grading of exams, quizzes, projects, assignments as instructed by the teaching faculty, setting up necessary teaching aids as instructed and tracking progress in-class projects, assignments.
Qualification: Master’s degree preferably in Management with minimum 60% marks or its equivalent grade and consistently good academic record. Proficient in MS Office is must.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Research experience in institute of repute and universities will be preferred.
Upper age limit: 35 years.
Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 30,000-40,000 per month depending upon qualification and experience. The Contract period will be for one year only.
2. Library Trainees – 01 Post (Contract)
Job Profile: To assist the Librarian in offering the library services to the faculty and the students and documentation of library activities.
Qualification: Master’s Degree in library and Information Science with minimum 60% marks or its equivalent grade and consistently good academic record
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience. Experience in institute of repute and universities will be preferred.
Upper age limit: 30 years.
Consolidated emoluments: Rs.25,000 – 30,000 depending upon qualification and experience. The contract will be for a period of 11 months only.
3. Management Trainees – 01 Post (Contract)
Job Profile: To assist the various Department/ Activity Heads of the Institute.
Qualification: Master’s degree preferably in Management with minimum 60% marks or its equivalent grade and consistently good academic record. Proficient in MS Office is must.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience. Experience in institute of repute and universities will be preferred.
Upper age limit: 30 years.

4. IT & Systems Trainees – 01 Post (Contract)
Job Profile: To assist System Manager in IT related work/activity of the Institute.
Qualification: B.E./ B. Tech in Computer Science/ Information Technology or MCA with minimum 60% marks or its equivalent grade and consistently good academic record.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience. Experience in institute of repute and universities will be preferred.
Upper age limit: 30 years.
Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 25,000-30,000 per month depending upon qualification and experience. The contract will be for a period of 11 months only.

Professors and Associate Professors
1. Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements for Faculty Positions
For academic positions, the qualification, experience, etc. shall be governed by the Ministry of Education guidelines.
Professor (Level 14A):
Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 4 years post Ph.D. experience should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/institutions of comparable standards. He/ She should have high research, training and consulting credentials.
- Ph. D. with 10 years of post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/research/industrial experience of out of which 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/ institutions of comparable standards.
- First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Master’s and Graduation Degrees
- First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Class XII and Class X.
- 5% relaxation for SC/ST/DAP and 3% relaxation for OBC in X, XII, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
- Minimum Two Papers in A*/A** Category Journals or Four Research Paper in “A – Category Journals” or Eight in “B – Category Journals”.
- Preference for FPM/Ph.D. guidance.
Associate Professor (Level 13A2):
Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum of 6 years of experience of which at least 3 years post Ph.D. experience should be at the level of Assistant Professor, and ability to interact with a diverse student body and executives, and ability to undertake research independently. Candidates from Industry (Government / PSU/ Research Organization) having experience of 6 years at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor.
- Ph.D. with six years of post-Ph.D. experience out of which 3 years should be as Assistant Professor at Level-12 or equivalent / Candidates from Industry (Government / PSU / Research Organization) having of post-Ph.D. experience of 6 years at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor.
- First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Master’s and Graduation Degrees
- First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Class XII and Class X
- 5% relaxation for SC/ST/DAP and 3% relaxation for OBC in X, XII, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.

Professor of Practice
Professor of Practice/Associate Professor of Practice
In order to be considered for the Professor of Practice/Associate Professor of Practice, the individual must have substantial relevant experience (minimum 20 years for Professor of Practice with at least 5 years at a senior level position and minimum 20 years for Associate Professor of Practice) in industry or government with demonstrated understanding of and impact on practice and has the interest and potential to teach Leadership Development Program (LDP) courses as full- time activity.
The Minimum qualification will be as per regular positions of Professor and Associate Professor.
- Ph.D. in the appropriate branch is desirable, but not essential. However, a lack of Ph.D. must be offset by demonstrated domain knowledge, obtained from the ‘field’.
- First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Master’s and Graduation Degrees
- First-class (Min 60%) or equivalent grade in Class XII and Class X.
Depending on the relevant years of experience with demonstrated understanding of and impact on practice and has the interest and potential to teach Leadership Development Program (LDP) courses, the candidate could be called either “Associate Professor of Practice” or “Professor of Practice”.
Professor of Practice/Associate Professor of Practice will be appointed initially for a period of one/two years and is renewable every year for a maximum period of up to 5 years based onhis performance. In both the cases the retirement age will be 65 years.
The overall compensation of “Professor of Practice” or “Associate Professor of Practice” will be equivalent to that of regular Associate Professor or Full Professor. Selected candidates will get Consolidated Compensation, Accommodation, Medical Allowance, Reimbursement of Telephone Bills, Incentive for Research Publications, Faculty Development Fund for attending National Conferences, Membership of Professional Bodies etc. as per IIM Jammu Rules.
