Having (i) post-Ph.D. research experience in the field of design and development of novel lipidbased delivery systems and nucleic acid-based therapeutics as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core research areas mentioned above and (ii) work experience in cellular and animal models and in the interface of chemistry and biology are highly desirable. Research experience in pharmaceutical company in above mentioned fields is an added advantage. ii. Having (i) post-Ph.D. research experience in the field of design and development of novel multistep synthetic approaches towards natural products, new chemical entities, APIs & their intermediates and process development of APIs as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) or patents in the core research areas mentioned above and (ii) Work experience in process development, process validation of APIs and knowledge regulatory affairs, filing DMF are highly desirable. Experience in chemical/pharmaceutical industry is an added advantage.. iii. Post-Ph.D. research experience with heterogeneous catalysis as the core area of research as evidenced by peer reviewed publications (in SCI journals) in the core subject area mentioned above. Proven expertise in design and synthesis of solid catalysts and their characterization, vapor phase catalytic reactions related to the preparation of fine chemicals/API and biofuels are highly desirable. Experience in chemical/ pharmaceutical industry is an added advantage.

    Responsibilities
    i. The selected candidate will have to undertake and lead research projects on nucleic acid-based delivery projects by working with other biology and chemistry related groups. The candidate is expected to take active role in pursuing basic as well as translational research towards the development of m-RNA vaccination and other therapeutics as part of institutional projects. ii. The selected candidate will have to undertake and lead research projects on process chemistry by working with the other research groups. The candidate is expected to take active role in pursuing basic as well as translational research towards the development of novel processes for APIs, drugs and their intermediates as part of institutional projects. The selected candidate will have to undertake and lead research projects in the area of catalysis, synthesis of catalysts & their applications, catalytic reaction and also work with the research groups of the institute.     Instructions
    a. These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) etc. as admissible to the Central Government employees and as made applicable to CSIR. Council employees are also eligible for accommodation of their entitled type as per CSIR allotment rules depending on availability. In case accommodation is allotted, HRA will not be admissible. b. In addition to the emoluments, benefits such as reimbursement of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession & house Building Advance, etc., are applicable to CSIR employees from time to time. c.     The CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) is one of the oldest National Laboratories under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). It started as the Central Laboratories for Scientific & Industrial Research (CLSIR) by the then princely State of Hyderabad in 1944. CSIR-IICT during its seventy year journey has made its mark as a dynamic, innovative and result oriented R&D organization. The clientele spans all comers of the globe. In India it is the reliable destination of chemical and biotech industries. The reputation that CSIR-IICT could establish amongst the industrial clients as a reliable R&D partner, can be largely attributed to its rich pool of scientists with expertise in broad ranging research areas and simple and effective business development strategies. The Transformation from CLSIR to CSIR-IICT For a laboratory with Global presence, it had a humble beginning when the princely state of Hyderabad was planning to create a research Centre. A first step in the direction of creating applied research appears to have been taken by Hyderabad State when the Industrial Laboratory was set up by the then Government in 1920s which became the forerunner of CLSIR. Its work involved ‘scientific help and advice, analytical services, and investigations and research on industrial problems. The areas of investigation on laboratory scale in 1940s, for example, included: synthesis of known drugs; organic acids from vegable wastes; denaturants for alcohol used as motor spirit; graphite and mica purification; fire-proof enamels and glass for bangles; and examination of fibers. Similar laboratories were later set up in some British provinces. The formative Years: In 1940, the Imperial India constituted the Board of Scientific & Industrial Research (BSIR) to facilitate industrial research.
