Qualification

(i) Bachelor’s degree in any engineering stream and a Post Graduate degree in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System from a recognised University or its equivalent; OR (ii) Master’s degree in Physics/Mathematics/Geology/Earth Sciences/Agriculture with minimum 55% marks and a Post Graduate degree in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System from a recognised University or its equivalent;

Scale

Rs. 50,000/- per month (consolidated).

Limit

Maximum 45 years as on 01.01.2018.

Desirable
Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Sciences/Applied Sciences or ME/M Tech degree.

Experience
Requirements

(i) Five years working experience in a Scientific Organisation/Organisation having Research Facility. (ii) Working experience in map/image interpretation using latest GIS Software. b) Desirable (i) Experience in planning and execution of scientific projects. (ii) Experience in field survey.

Job
Responsibilities

Supervisor will be required to take up the activities in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS, Coastal process studies, bathymetry and other related studies, interpretation of satellite imagery, use of different GIS software, map reading/interpretation, CRZ studies and map preparation, CZM map preparation, Report writing on maps, wetland studies, field surveys in connections with scientific studies, Technical/Scientific studies as required by the IESWM. The incumbent would be required to work in close coordination with other staffs of the Institute, researchers, Research Institutes, public representatives and other stake holders.

Institute of Environmental Studies & Wetland Management (IESWM) was established in March,1986 with the primary objective of carrying out studies related to wetland functions and its ecology. It was set up initially with the name ‘Institute of Wetland Management & Ecological Design'(IWMED) with a modest set up.But with dedicated manpower having a proper understanding and assessment of the environmental backdrop,tenacious approach,continuous visibility,consistent persuasion and close touch with all concerned authorities,it has developed its own ambit during this period.IWMED was the only Institute in this country dedicated towards research in this fragile acosystem.But, within a short span of time,the Institute became well known to the academic circle of our State and partly to different parts of our country and frequently been referred as “Wetland Institute”.
