a. Assistant Professors in broad specialties working in Directorate of Medical Education, Civil Assistant Surgeons working in the Directorate of Public Health & Family Welfare or Directorate of Secondary Health (APVVP) are only eligible to apply. b. Candidate shall be an approved probationer or should have completed the probation period in the cadre of CAS/ Assistant Professor. c. There shall not be any disciplinary charges pending against the candidate and shall not be in unauthorized absence. 2. Rule of Reservation applicable to the promotions is adhered to, in the recruitment through lateral entry. 3. Candidate applying for Lateral Entry shall submit NOC from the HoD in the prescribed format at ANNEXURE No.IV 4. For the Candidates applying under LE, do not require SR. After selection, they will be posted as Senior Resident for a period of one year and after completion of one year SR ship, they will be appointed as Assistant Professor.

The present Directorate of Medical Education was created in the year 1987, after many changes that took place from 1967 to 1987. Full-fledged functioning of the department started from 29. 9. 1987.
