Instructions
The interview for the Young Professional-II (YP-II) will be conducted online through video conferencing/ WhatsApp video call/any other digital platform. The time & regarding the platform used for the interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates later through phone/email/ or uploaded on ICAR-CIFT website https://www.cift.res.in/). The interview will be conducted by strictly following COVID 19 guidelines given by Gujarat state government / Government of India. No candidates will be allowed to enter ICAR-CIFT, Veraval Research Centre campus for enquiries regarding the YP-II interview. Only Indian citizens are eligible for appearing in the online interview. Age limit: The minimum age will be 21 years and Maximum 40 years as on last date of submission of application. Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates is permissible. Period of contract service is for one year from the date of joining or completion of project whichever is earlier. The Young professional-II position is purely on temporary basis. The selected candidates shall have no right/claim for regular appointment or absorption at ICAR-CIFT at any point of time.

The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) set up in 1954 is the only national center in the country where research in all disciplines relating to fishing and fish processing is undertaken. The institute started functioning at Cochin in 1957. Research centers function at Veraval (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam (AP), Mumbai (Maharashtra). The institute functions with the following mandate: To conduct basic, strategic and applied research in fishing and fish processing. To develop designs for fuel efficient fishing vessels and fishing gear for responsible fishing. To develop technologies for commercial isolation of bioactive compounds and industrially important products from fish and fishery wastes. To design innovative implements and machineries for fishing and fish processing and pilot plants for facilitating commercialization of technologies developed.
