Qualification
PG Degree in Unani System of Medicine MD(U)/MS(U) included in the 2nd Schedule of Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 and enrolment in the Central/State Register of Indian Medicine. 2. 20 years' Teaching/ Research experience in the Unani Medicine in a Recognized Institute/University. 3. At least five years' experience in administrative/managerial capacity. 4. Quality research work published in peer reviewed research journal, with atleast five research papers as First Author or Corresponding Author, out of which two research paper should have been published in indexed reputed Journals, with impact factor.

About Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine:
Systematic research in Indian systems of medicine under the government patronage initiated with the establishment of Central Council for Research in Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy (CCRIMH) as an autonomous organisation of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the year 1969. A Central Research Institute of Unani Medicine at Hyderabad, two Clinical Research Units one each at New Delhi and Chennai, two Literary Research Units one each at Lucknow and Aligarh and a Composite Drugs Research Unit at Aligarh were established under the ages of this Council. In the year 1978 this Council was split up into four separate research Councils, one each for Ayurveda and Siddha, Unani Medicine, Yoga and Naturopathy and Homoeopathy, so as to further develop these systems in consonance with the basic philosophies of the respective systems. The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) started functioning independently from 10th January 1979.
