Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate / Post-Doctoral Fellow (CLOSED)

to work both in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra and Environmental
Department of CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai for DST-WMT funded project entitled
‘Development, Testing, Calibration and Validation of Stirling Engine for decentralized power generation
using Bio-Gas produced from Stubble waste and agricultural waste’ with a special focus on enhanced biogas
production using stubble waste.

Job Description:

– Research Associate for the DST-WMT funded above project. Appointment of RA / Post Doctoral Fellow is
expected to collect data from the experiment laboratory & anaerobic solid waste digester by using
agricultural stubble waste and optimise the digester design and processes by using computational fluid
dynamics (CFD) and for enhanced high purity biogas production.

Job duration: 2 years

Number of posts: 1

Salary: Rs. 47,000/- (+ 16% HRA at Ranchi and 24% HRA when in Chennai) per month for two
years

Job location: Jointly to work both at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Birla Institute
of Technology, Mesra and CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai but predominant duration will be
at CSIR-CLRI, Chennai.

Eligibility:

Engineering or Science Ph.D. on Biogas with minimum three publications during or post Ph.D. The candidate
should have a strong inclination towards research with knowledge of lab scale and large-scale biogas
plants.

Desirable experience: Experience on CFD based modelling and optimisation with the experimental
data collected on the stubble waste / anaerobic Biogas plant on production or purification or bottling.
