The selection process for RRB NTPC consists of five main stages. Below is a detailed description of the selection procedure:
The 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will be common for all RRB NTPC positions. This screening test will adhere to the educational standards required for the posts. The normalized scores from the 1st Stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT based on their merit.
Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks from the 1st Stage CBT. The total number of candidates selected will be 15 times the number of vacancies in each community category as advertised by the RRB, according to their merit in the 1st Stage CBT. However, the Railways reserve the right to adjust this number up or down, either overall or for specific categories, to ensure there are sufficient candidates for all the notified positions.
Typing Test will be conducted for the various posts such as Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Comm. Cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Clerk Cum Typist, and Trains Clerk. According to the RRB NTPC Notification, the details for the RRB NTPC Typing Test is as follows:-
- The Typing Skill Test (TST) will be conducted as a qualifying test (marks will not affect final merit).
- Candidates will be called in a ratio of eight times the number of vacancies for each community.
- Typing Speed Requirement in English is 30 words per minute and in Hindi is 25 WPM.
- Must be typed on a personal computer and no editing tools or spell check allowed.
- For Hindi Typing Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be provided for the test.
Candidates will be called for Document Verification based on their performance in the examination. The number of candidates selected for this stage will match the number of vacancies, and they will be chosen according to their merit and preferences.
Candidates must meet the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) they have applied for.
It is essential for applicants to carefully review the medical standards specific to each post, as those deemed medically unsuitable will not be offered any alternative positions.
