RRB NTPC 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) Exam Pattern
- The 1st Stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts.
- The exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 Minutes.
- There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The normalized score of 1st Stage CBT shall be used for short listing of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT as per their merit.

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
RRB NTPC 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) Exam Pattern
Shortlisting of Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in 1st Stage CBT.
- Total no. of candidates to be shortlisted shall be 15 times the community wise vacancies of posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in 1st Stage CBT However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit in total or for any specific category(s) as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts.
- The examination duration will be 120 Minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied with Scribe.
- There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

RRB NTPC Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
CBAT will be conducted only for candidates who have opted for Station Master.
- Qualifying marks: The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
- This applies to all candidates irrespective of community or category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.
- Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.
- The CBAT shall have question-and-answer options only in English and Hindi.
- There shall be no negative marking in CBAT.
- The merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in the CBAT.
RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test (TST)
Typing Test will be conducted for the various posts such as Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Comm. Cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Clerk Cum Typist, and Trains Clerk.
- The Typing Skill Test (TST) will be conducted as a qualifying test (marks will not affect final merit).
- Candidates will be called in a ratio of eight times the number of vacancies for each community.
- Typing Speed Requirement in English is 30 words per minute and in Hindi is 25 WPM.
- Must be typed on a personal computer and no editing tools or spell check allowed.
- For Hindi Typing Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be provided for the test.
RRB NTPC Document Verification (DV)
Candidates will be called for Document Verification based on their performance in the examination. The number of candidates selected for this stage will match the number of vacancies, and they will be chosen according to their merit and preferences.
