The Nicobar group has almost 22 islands with an area of 1841 km2 (710.8 sq mi).
- The whole union territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands consists of 572 islands with a total area of 8,249 km2 (3,185 sq mi).
- Both the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are separated by the Ten Degree Channel which is approximately 150 km (93 mi) wide.
- The climate of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is tropical but is moderated by sea breezes.
- The coral beds are also found in Lakshadweep Islands along with Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- The Barren and Narcondam island located in the north of Port Blair (Andaman Islands), are the only active volcanic islands of India found in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- The Great Andaman group of islands in the north is separated by the Ten Degree Channel from the Nicobar group in the south.

- Duncan passage separates Little Andaman from South Andaman.
- Saddle peak (737 m) in North Andaman is the highest peak.
- Mt Thuillier being the highest peak on Great Nicobar Island.
- Baratang Island of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands contains the only known examples of mud volcanoes in India, called locally as “Jalki”
- Temperature 23 °C to 30 °C.
- Rain Fall: 120 inches of rain annually, brought mainly by the southwest monsoon and by the tropical cyclones
- National Park – Andamans, Mahatma Gandhi Marine, Mount Harriet, Rani Jhansi Marine, and Saddle Peak National Parks.
