Three Visions for India
1. Introduction to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
- Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is known as the “father of India’s guided missile program.”
- He was a famous scientist who worked on missiles and space technology.
- He shared three important visions for India based on his experiences and India’s history.
2. Dr. Kalam’s Three Visions for India
Dr. Kalam had three big dreams for India:
1. Freedom
- India must be free so that the world respects us.
- In 3,000 years, many countries like the Greeks, British, and French invaded India and took our land and wealth.
- But India never attacked or took over other countries because we respect their freedom.
- The first fight for freedom began in 1857 with the War of Independence.
- We must protect and build on this freedom.
2. Development
- India has been a “developing nation” for 50 years, but now it’s time to become a “developed nation.”
- India is one of the top five countries in GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and has a 10% growth rate in many areas.
- Poverty is decreasing, and our achievements are known worldwide.
- But we lack confidence to see ourselves as a developed, self-reliant nation.
3. Standing Up
- India must stand strong in front of the world to earn respect.
- Strength comes from military power and economic power together.
- India has many achievements, like being the second largest producer of wheat and rice, the first in milk production, and a leader in remote-sensing satellites.
- We should be proud of our success stories and stop focusing only on bad news.
3. Key Messages from Dr. Kalam
Self-Respect and Self-Reliance: If we depend on ourselves and not on foreign things (like TVs, shirts, or technology), we will gain self-respect.
Positive Thinking: In Israel, newspapers show inspiring stories (like a man turning a desert into a farm) even during tough times. India should do the same instead of focusing only on failures.
Youth’s Role: A 14-year-old girl told Dr. Kalam she wants to live in a developed India. He said we all must work together to make this dream come true.
