(b) Explain with the help of practical examples how sound is propagated through solids.
Answer – Sound travels through solids better than through air. For example:
If you put your ear on a wooden table and someone knocks on the other end, you will hear the sound clearly.
In railway tracks, people can hear an approaching train by putting their ears on the rails.

(c) What is meant by noise pollution?
Answer – Noise pollution is the excessive and harmful sound in the environment that disturbs people, animals, and nature. It can be caused by loudspeakers, traffic, and factories.
