Question Answers For All Chapters – Balbharati English Class 6
A Mad Tea Party
POINTERS
2. Write any three of the silly remarks made by the characters other than Alice. Write why you think the remark is silly.
Answer : खालील तुमच्या अनुभवासाठी एक उदाहरण आहे, पण ईविद्यर्थी तुम्हाला तुमचा स्वतःचा अनुभव लिहिण्यास प्रवृत्त करते.
Remark 1: “Have some wine,” said the March Hare.
Why it’s silly: The March Hare offers Alice wine, but there’s no wine on the table—only tea! It’s silly because he’s pretending to offer something that doesn’t exist.
Remark 2: “Why is a raven like a writing-desk?” said the Hatter.
Why it’s silly: This is a riddle with no answer, which makes it silly. The Hatter asks it just to confuse Alice, and even he doesn’t know what it means!
Remark 3: “I breathe when I sleep is the same thing as I sleep when I breathe,” said the Dormouse.
Why it’s silly: This sounds clever but doesn’t make sense because everyone breathes and sleeps. The Dormouse says it in a sleepy way, which makes it funny and silly.
3. Read the following.
- I mean what I say. I say what I mean.
- I see what I eat. I eat what I see.
Use your imagination to write a funny sentence on this pattern.
Answer : खालील तुमच्या अनुभवासाठी एक उदाहरण आहे, पण ईविद्यर्थी तुम्हाला तुमचा स्वतःचा अनुभव लिहिण्यास प्रवृत्त करते.
Funny sentence: “I hear what I sing. I sing what I hear!”
(This is funny because if you sing badly, you’d only hear bad singing, and it keeps going in a silly loop!)
4. Write what you would like to do if ‘Time’ was your friend.
Answer : If Time was my friend, I would ask him to slow down during my favorite classes, like games or art, so I could enjoy them longer. I’d also ask him to speed up boring homework time so it finishes fast. And maybe, I’d tell Time to stop for a while on holidays so I could play all day without the clock moving!
5. Can you think of a similarity between a raven and a writing desk ?
Write at least five differences between the two.
Answer : Similarity: A raven and a writing desk are both dark in color sometimes—ravens are black, and writing desks can be made of dark wood.
Differences:
A raven is a living bird, but a writing desk is a non-living piece of furniture.
A raven can fly, while a writing desk cannot move at all.
A raven eats food like insects, but a writing desk doesn’t eat anything.
A raven makes sounds like cawing, but a writing desk is silent.
You can write on a writing desk, but you can’t write on a raven!
