3. Say with reasons, whether the following statements are true or false.

(a) Akbar wanted to punish the person who pulled his moustache. – False
Akbar did not actually want to punish the person who pulled his moustache. He just wanted to test his courtiers and hear what they had to say.
(b) Akbar thought he was greater than God. – False
Akbar did not believe in false praise. He asked his courtiers to prove their words.
(c) Birbal thought Akbar was greater than God. – False
Birbal showed that Akbar could banish someone from his kingdom, but God’s kingdom is everywhere, so He cannot banish anyone. This proved that God is greater.

5. Write a short note on Emperor Akbar.
Answer : Emperor Akbar was one of the greatest rulers of India. He ruled a vast empire and had a strong army. He was a kind and just king who cared for his people. Akbar respected scholars, poets, and artists from different religions. He had nine famous courtiers, called the ‘nav-ratnas.’ Birbal, one of them, was known for his cleverness. Akbar often asked interesting questions, and Birbal always gave witty answers. Akbar believed in justice and wisdom rather than false praise.
